It’s going to be such a beautiful day today! Hubby took the day off to make a day trip to Deal’s Gap with one of our friends. He’s finally going to swing by Wheeler’s Shop this morning to get his suspension setup. That’s something he’s needed to do for a long time, but he’s just been lazy about it. As many times as the guys at the shop here have messed things up, I don’t trust them touching it.
If you’re ever at the Gap and need something, Wheeler’s is a great place to stop, but I recommend getting your suspension setup to everyone. Wheeler’s only charges $25 to do it. Remember all bikes come from the factory setup for the default weight. It’s normally somewhere in the 160-170lbs range. If you weigh more or less there’s a good chance your suspension could be adjusted to give you a better ride. The wrong suspension settings can throw everything off.

Hubby and I were joking around tonight. We’re supposed to go back to Deal’s Gap on Wednesday, and he was joking about different ways to finally make the front page of Killboy. He swears everyone he knows has made Killboy except him. Alli makes it almost every time she goes up there, but she’s a chick on a bike. Therefore she’s always “chickonabike”. Last week she made it from “chicksonabike” (of course another chick riding with her), and then she made it again for being the coolest mama, letting Little A ride with her.
I jokingly mentioned to Hubby that he could make it by posting my blog address all over his bike, and he decided it was a great idea! Free advertising for me, and he makes it onto front page!
Now that we’ve discussed it I thought hey, it’s not a such a bad idea after all. I’ve got a ton of blogs, and some of my blogs earn a good portion of my income. I advertise them in other ways, business cards, fliers, online advertising, so why not on the bike?
VistaPrint offers the perfect solution! I can order custom magnets! I already order business cards from VistaPrint, and I know their quality is excellent. They make car magnets, and I’m sure I could probably special order a specific magnet size if a car magnet is too large!

Ugh. We just got the bike out of the shop today, and we’re already preparing to do more work to it tomorrow. It went in last Thursday for a service, and it didn’t come out of the shop until today. Technically it’s not even out of the shop yet. The dealership called Hubby today 15 minutes before closing to let him know the bike is finally ready. Of course he works out of state, and it takes him an hour to get to the dealership.
I’m not as pissed as I thought I would be that a simple servicing took a week. When Kyle, the only mechanic I’ll let touch it, when to service it he had to order a seal to take care of an oil leak. Even though the part was ordered last Friday, it didn’t come in until today (technically yesterday now since it’s 4am).
We won’t pay the rather high fees the service department charges to change our chain and sprocket, so we will be doing that this morning ourselves…after Hubby picks the bike up that is. He’ll be at the dealership at 9am waiting for the doors to open.
As much as I hate the 600r’s outdated technology, it’s still our bike, and I miss riding it.

I know we all like to ride our bikes, but have you ever gone on a trip on your bike only to get stuck in weather that is impossible to ride in? A lot of people say they’d ride no matter what, but there have been times when we had no choice but to pull over. I’m not riding through a horrible storm full of hail and lightning. These days I won’t ride through heavy rain unless I absolutely have to.
If you’re on a trip in nothing but your bike, but you’ve got to have a way to get around you can always car rental companies like Advantage that offer specials and discounts on a regular basis. Just check their website for details.
