I’ve been holding out on buying a new front stay because I was really hoping the old one could be straightened. I wasn’t crossing my fingers or anything because it looked pretty rough. I have seen others that look just as bad be straightened before though, and we got lucky. Hubby informed me today that the stay was fixed which saves me about $120.
I was going to order a new set of flush mounts today, but then I remembered I have to buy a baby gift even though I’ll be missing my friend’s baby shower this weekend. I decided to get her some baby bedding. A friend and I split the cost, but it was still pretty expensive. I’ll have to wait until next week to order the flush mounts.
We’ll be out of town this week, but as soon as we get back we’re kicking things in high gear. We’re so closed to being done!

I just ran an update to WordPress 2.6.2, and I’m still rather scared. Let me know if anyone spots any problems (other than my comments issue). The problem with my comments still stands, so if you leave a comment be patient. I still have to manually go into the database to approve each one from phpMyAdmin. Surprisingly spam comments about things like weight loss pills tend to find their way through the system, get approved on their own, and aren’t sent to spam. That all occurred when I upgraded to 2.5, and I haven’t been able to fix the issue.
I’m definitely going to switch up my comments here in the near future. I’m just debating on whether I want to stick with my tried and true Disqus or if I want to try out SezWho.

I snapped a few pics when we dropped off the bike so you can see what shape it’s in right now. I promise it looks much worse than it really is! The welding is the major thing that’s left to be done. After that it’s a matter of putting parts back on, putting the new gas tank on, fairings, stuff like that. After the welding is complete the tail end conversion will be done, and we can fit the r6 tail section on. Ignore the wooden braces. That’s our home built stand since the kickstand needs to be replaced. The old one is bent too much and won’t hold up under the weight of the bike.
I’m so excited because even though there have been bumps in the road we’re so close! We could have had it done quickly, but time and money constraints caused a major delay. Other than that there were times when neither of us felt like looking at it much less working on it. Now it looks like everything will be finished in 3 weeks. It would probably be sooner, but we’re tacking on an extra week to our goal since we’ll be at the beach for a few days.
Right now my main concern is jerking that D&D sticker off the replacement swingarm. :-p Sorry, but you’ll never find a D&D on my bikes.
