I seriously can’t believe all this nice weather we’re having right now! It’s going to be around 77 today, and it’ll be a beautiful day to ride. Too bad I feel like absolute total crap, and Hubby’s working late tonight. It’ll be well past dark when he gets home, so no riding for us.
Before Hubby left for work we talked about taking a ride anyway when he gets home, but I already feel like I’m on the verge of pneumonia. I can just imagine what I’d feel like after riding around with the cold air hitting my face. Even with my chin guard on my helmet and wearing my balaclava it still hits me pretty rough when my body’s already low. I think I’ll just stay off the bike until I’m feeling better.
I have other things to do anyway. I’m going to try to knock out some more Christmas shopping this morning, especially if I get paid early today. That would be a really nice surprise. I still haven’t ordered any of Hubby’s presents yet. I keep making a list of all the things I want to get him, and he keeps changing his mind. I almost ordered him a set of boots, but I’m glad I didn’t.
Last night he proposed that we yet again don’t buy presents for each other this year. We haven’t bought each other gifts in 5 years because we’re always spending more than we should on everyone else, not leaving any of the Christmas budget for us. We’d made a pact that this year we would definitely buy each other presents, but I’m kind of liking Hubby’s new idea.
We’ve both got a list of places we want to go on vacation. He wants to visit Germany, Holland, and Spain while I definitely want a big trip to Ireland as well as many other places. His idea is that we start searching for a big vacation package, then we throw all the money we’d spend on each other into a vacation savings account. We do that for every birthday and holiday until we can afford to go. Honestly, the cash that other people give us at Christmas and Birthdays combined with the cash we wouldn’t be spending on each other, we might actually be able to take a nice vacation in the next year or two.
His only stipulation?
No matter where we go, he has to be able to rent a bike and travel around the country. I guess that means European cruises are out of the question.
I absolutely LOVE to shop online. I admit I hate going to the brick & mortar when I need something, but give me a computer and a credit card, and I’m ready to shop ’til I drop!
I bet you can guess what kind of stuff gets me every time! Yep, it’s the motorcycle gear. I spend hours just searching around the internet looking at all these awesome jackets and helmets and boots and gloves and…the list just goes on! I’ve never been much of a girlie girl, and I’ve never really had a passion for shopping for anything until it came time to pick out my gear. I’m never happy with having just 1 riding jacket or 1 helmet or whatever. I always want more! I want to have options. I don’t care how many actual daily wear outfits I have in my closet as long as I can pick my riding “outfit”. I don’t want to wear the same old jacket and helmet every single time. This girl needs options!
I recently found out about a contest eBillme has going on, and man it’s such an awesome contest. it’s one of those things that would not only allow me to shop for anything my little heart desires, but I could totally buy everything on all those Christmas wish lists I have to fulfill. Yep, it’s time to do that dreaded holiday shopping, and eBillme is giving away $33,000 in prizes that could help us all get a little of that shopping out of the way!
So, how in the world can you enter this awesome contest? Well it’s pretty simple actually. First you need to register for the contest at Shop and Confess to sign up. When it asks you for a URL it’d really appreciate if you would add my blogs url (http://motomadness.buddybrick.com) so they will know I referred you. In no way will that help or hurt either of our chances of winning, but it will allow Ebillme to know that I referred you to their contest. Also, the referral URL must match one of the bloggers chosen to refer you to this contest, so using your own link won’t work!
Then there’s only one more step, and it’s super simple. All you have to do is write out your shopping confession. If you’re not camera shy you can also record your confession and upload it! That’s it! You’re entered for a chance to win!
Ebillme has also put together a video to give you more information on the contest, so please check it out!
I tried to go to sleep last night but I couldn’t. I guess sleeping ’til 5pm will do that to you! I decided at 6am that there’s no way I’m going to be sleepy before daybreak, so I’m going to wake Hubby up to see if he wants to take a ride this morning. I pulled out the liner for my jacket and my under armor. I’m ready to go!
I really did expect to be sleepy by now considering time changed and all of you are getting an extra hour of sleep right now. I sat here watching a movie thinking man it should really be later than this! I feel like time is moving so slowly tonight. Then I smacked myself in the forehead and said “Duh! Time changed an hour ago!”
I finished my movie and spent a few hours going back and forth between surfing around the net looking at random stuff, cleaning up junk in my office, and cleaning up tons of old mail in my inbox. I have a bad habit of not deleting stuff after I read it, so I had all kind of junk in there like coupon codes to use during B&BW sales that ended 6 months ago, old forwards I never wanted to look at in the first place, and junk emails from places trying to get me to do stuff like renting las vegas suites or buy ink. At least I got all that cleaned out.
Now I’m just killing time waiting for about another hour so I can wake Hubby up and say let’s ride! Maybe he’ll be in a good mood and I can bribe him out of bed with riding and breakfast!
Today was a really nice day and perfect riding weather. Hubby told me this morning he was going to ride for a bit if he got the tire changed out. I needed to catch some sleep, so I figured he’d do that then we’d go riding this afternoon.
WRONG. I slept until almost dark. I woke up to my phone ringing off the hook…my mom calling me wanting me to look up some info on fibromyalgia. That’s when I realized both Hubby and the bike were gone, so I’m glad he got to enjoy the nice weather. It looks like it’s going to be 74 tomorrow, so I might try to get in some ride time. This is probably one of the last warm days we’ll have before spring. I have a feeling it’s going to be a rough winter.
I don’t know how I did it, but I somehow managed to pull about $200 out of thin air to go towards Hubby’s Christmas presents. I figured that means I really need to get him something nice and motorcycle related since he’s had such a crappy bike year. He is getting the double bubble that he wants, but now I really need to come up with something nice. I definitely still can’t afford the pipe he wants, but there’s got to be something I can get him.
If I can’t find something that will go on the bike itself I might end up getting him another pair of riding boots. He loves the ones he has, the Icon Field Armor boots, but they’re really too bulky. They’re made to look good, but they’re totally not made to ride well. Being so chunky makes it really hard to shift, and even after adjusting his shifter and his pegs he still has to squeeze his foot in there to shift.
Speaking of boots, I found a really cute pair of Classic UGGs I might add to my wishlist. I’m normally not a big fan of UGGs, but this one pair I found, the women’s Mayfaire in Western Brown Sheepskin, just stole my heart.
Anywho, back to bike talk. I know Hubby likes Icon boots, but I really would like to get him a pair of Alpinestars boots. They might not be as comfortable as his Field Armor boots (I know they wouldn’t be), but they’d be better for riding. The problem is he can never try them on to see how they fit because none of the bike shops around here carry boots big enough for his size 13s. They call carry size 10 as their floor models. I might just order him a pair anyway.
