Sorry I haven’t been posting much over here. We’ve had so much going on over the holidays that I just haven’t had that much time to spend online. We both have rather large families, and we spent last week getting ready for Christmas and this week running from place to place. We’ve had a Christmas dinner almost every day for the past week, and that gets very exhausting.
We did rack up some nice presents, but I care more about giving than receiving. I went out of my way this year to make sure I put as much into giving as I could afford to. In the past we’ve been tight on money normally around Christmas time, but this year I made sure I donated to a couple charities just because I could.
Today I made Hubby move the bike out of the guest room long enough for me to go through that closet. I loaded up a ton of coats and sweaters that I never wear and took them off to Goodwill. Now we finally have room in that closet to store the rest of the bike parts that we don’t need until I have time to list them on Ebay.
Now I’m going to take some of the cash we did get for Christmas and put it to good use buying one last part I need for the bike. The tail light we have didn’t work. It was labeled for an 01-02, but it’s off an 03-05, so I’m hoping to pick up the correct one this weekend.
So, what did you get for Christmas this year? Lots of bike stuff? Hubby and I actually didn’t receive anything bike related this year, and I was surprised. His favorite give is a Subway gift card his sis gave him. He eats there multiple times a week because it’s the only fast food type place up the mountain where he works, and he just loves Subway. He’d own a Subway franchise if I’d let him.

Matt didn’t end up coming over, so he was spared. Poor guy would have probably been scared out of his mind if he’d seen the mood I was in earlier. Now that I’m in a better mood I feel like I’ve been taking Ephadrasil hardcore or something because I’ve got all this energy that came out of nowhere.
It’s weird because this week I’ve been on this in bed by 9pm and awake by 5am kick, but I guess my body finally decided to change that. Oh well, at least I can put this energy to good use. Now that I’ve got my new card reader I can actually take some photos and get them transferred to the pc. I’m going to go setup a table in the guest room and take photos of all the extra bike parts I have to list on Ebay. I’ve got a ton of parts that weren’t damaged but won’t be reused because of the tail end conversion, so I might as well try to sell them.
I’m not sure if I want to list the stuff right now, though. With Christmas coming up I could sell a good bit of it if anyone’s looking for that part as a Christmas gift, but I don’t see that happening. I think I might wait until after the first of the year when all the Christmas shopping is over and done with.

Matt is coming over here tonight with a part he welded for the bike, and I feel sorry for him. He’s going to be walking into a house full of two very ill people. Luckily his showing up with bike parts should totally cheer Hubby up. I, on the other hand, will probably still be in a pissy mood.
I absolutely hate dealing with Walmart, and even worse I absolutely hate dealing with shopping…period. Throw in Christmas season, and I feel like having a nervous breakdown in the middle of the store. Tonight I was seriously almost to that point.
We had to get the oil changed at Walmart today since we’re oh only about 7,000 miles overdue in the Blazer. Yeah I know, that’s super horrible, we should stay on top of it, blah blah blah. We always stay on top of oil changes in the Blazer considering it needs one once a month, but we’ve had a lot going on this month so shoot me.
Anywho, we had a 45 minute wait for the Blazer, so Hubby up and decided we should do some grocery shopping so we didn’t have to drive past our house to another town to hit up our usual Ingles.
BAD IDEA.
It took us 10 minutes just to get a cart. Then the whole freakin’ store was so packed we couldn’t get to the grocery isles. If Walmart sold cattle supplies I would have totally bought a cattle prod to heard the people down the isles. I got into a fight with a woman in the frozen goods, gave up on trying to shop for groceries, grabbed a card reader since I finally remembered it while I was in the store, picked up a new Shark sweeper to replace my old sweeper that broke, and we spent the next 20 minutes standing in the automotive section waiting on the Blazer.
I seriously need some therapy right now…some bike therapy. Too bad it’s freakin’ cold out, and I can’t find my 1 piece cold weather First Gear suit. I really want to scream.

Last night Hubby and I headed over to a friend’s house who lives about 45 minutes away. Our friend had told us that the little mom and pop gas station down the road from his house has started selling used bikes. Apparently the son used to own a little used bike shop, but he had to close it down because of the economy. Instead of completely leaving his business behind he just took up shop in his parent’s gas station! I find it kind of funny but at the same time cool.
We stopped in to see what he had. Right now he only has 3 bikes sitting in there. He’s got a late 80’s Harley, a 2006 Triumph, and an ‘02 R6. The R6 was in pretty nice shape, and whoever rode it last hasn’t ridden it hard at all. The rear tire was totally flat spotted with some horrible chicken lines. Hubby’s interested in it, so we may go back up there today to give it a good looking over. We didn’t spend much time looking at it yesterday. Dude’s asking $4900 for it, which isn’t bad. That’s right at KBB price, but I wouldn’t pay that much considering it’s a high mileage bike and the tires are shot. He’ll definitely have to come off the price if we buy it.
The funniest part of the trip is was when we were walking towards the bikes. We had to walk through the little personal hygiene section, and for the first time ever Hubby saw the OTC paternity test kits. He freaked out right there in the store. I explained that you still have to send it off to get the results, and it won’t hold up in court unless you pay like $200 extra, but he found it funny. There aren’t many stores around here that carry them, and he was shocked to see one. He’s now referring to them as “Baby Daddy In A Box”.

Gee when I said I didn’t think I’d be around for a few days I didn’t mean to come down with a flu bug! I’ve been stuck inside for days laid up in bed doing nothing but watching tv, sleeping, and working from bed when I felt up to it. I caught up on a few episodes of Super Bikes! I’ve missed, so at least something good came out of it. I still feel like crap, but at least I feel like getting out of bed to get something done. I’ve been so restless, and it’s driven me crazy.
I told Hubby if nothing else I was going to at least get some laundry and dishes done, and most likely I’ll Lysol the bathroom again. At least then I’ll feel like I’ve accomplished something, and if I get to feeling too down again I’ll go back to sleep. It won’t be hard to fall asleep with all this rain falling today.
I don’t want to go back to bed though. I’ve got a list a mile long of things I want to get done over the next few days. For starters I still have to pull the Christmas tree out. Then I need to do a search for cheap auto insurance. It’s been awhile since I compared quotes. We’re currently with Nationwide for the Blazer, and I hate it. I hated Progressive for auto, too, but not as bad as I hate Nationwide. We’re only with Nationwide because Hubby has a crappy driving record, and it was the cheapest we could get for the full coverage we have to keep on the Blazer. Luckily the bike insurance is with Progressive, and that just dropped another $30.
