Go Away Bug

I really wish I could have enjoyed this nice riding weather we’ve had the past few days. It’s been the perfect little break from winter. Instead I’ve been back and forth between laid up on the couch and in the bathroom heaving up my intestines. I don’t know what this bug is, but it’s had it’s hold on us for awhile now. We start feeling better after a few days, then suddenly it hits again. My mom’s got it, too, and after 4 trips to the doc he keeps telling her she’s just got to let the virus work it’s way out. It’s just taking it’s own sweet time seeing as how she’s had this for about 2 months now.

Oh well, I might not can ride right now but I can think about riding, and dream about the stuff I’d like to add to the bike. I was trying to check out a few things on Ebay last night, but he took over the pc. He knows a guy who has an old Ferrari for sale, so of course he wanted to look up Ferrari parts. I hate to tell him, but there’s no way we’re getting a Ferrari, no matter how old it is. I’m doing my best to come up with the cash for him to buy his first gen DSM. Then again, I want the DSM, too. That’s my dream car.

Buying A New Camcorder

I’m surfing around tonight looking for a camera mount for the bike. I’ve got a friend who has the camcorder I’ve been wanting, and he’s offered to sell it to me for pretty cheap. Yay for that! Now hopefully we’ll be ready to make some decent videos this summer.

I’ve been stuck using the video on my Kodak digital camera, and honestly it absolutely sucks. Then again everything about the camera sucks. The only other one I have right now is an old Sony Camcorder my aunt gave me. It’s one of the old bulky full size tape models from 20 years ago, and man I am NOT going to find a way to mount that sucker to a bike!

Paint Job

Speaking of riding again, it looks like the bike might have it’s new paint job just in time for riding season.  I was talking to a friend this week who does custom paint.  He and his girl have been engaged for 3 years now, and they’re finally getting married.

They want a cheap wedding, so while I was asking him about painting the bike the cheapest way possible, he was asking me if I’d be interested in giving his wife some tips on how I planned our wedding for less than $2000 (including dress & venue).  No, my wedding wasn’t a redneck cheap wedding.  It was a rather nice one, but we managed to pull it off for a cheap price because I don’t believe in breaking the bank just to get married.

His wife called me yesterday, and we decided to work out a deal.  I’m going to design her wedding invitations and help with some of the wedding plans in exchange for her Hubby painting the bike. We’ll each pay for the materials for each job, but the work will be free.

I’m all for the barter system, and I’m more than willing to help someone out who’s willing to help me. We’ll both end up saving a ton of money.

Now, I just have to hunt down another tank since the guy I found on the forums was trying to charge me full price plus shipping for a beat up tank with a tank slap dent. Not going to happen! If I’m going to pay full price it better be brand new!

Sweating It Off

Riding motorcycles may not be a strenuous exercise activity, but Hubby and I have both been joking that we’ve both gained weight because we haven’t been riding the last few months.  We were looking for multivitamins last night when he picked up a bottle of fat burner pills.  I told him he didn’t need those, and he laughed.  He grabbed his belly fat and said at this rate I won’t fit into my leathers by summer.

We both agreed we do both tend to lose weight during riding season, but I don’t attribute it to doing a strenuous activity.  I say it’s because we’re both in full gear in the hot sun sweating like crazy.  I told him to be patient.  We’ve already switched him to a low fat diet, we’re incorporating more exercise, and it won’t be long before we’re back in leather sweating it off again.  Leave the diet pills sitting on the shelf where they belong, and we’ll get ourselves back to a healthy weight the diet and exercise.

A little sweating is a good thought though on such a cold day like today! I’m sorry but negative wind chills just don’t happen very often around here, and this southern girl is freezing her buns off.

Trying To Fix The Comments Again

I’m dealing with another bug that’s hit me, so I can’t move far away from the puke bucket today.  Instead of trying to accomplish anything outside the house I’m going to probably spend most of the day sitting right here with a puke bucket by my side trying to figure out a way to finally fix the comments on this blog without screwing everything up.

It’s like something has completely gone screwy with the database tables, and things that should go through aren’t while things that should be prevented are going through.  It’s a big mess, and because of the comments database being screwed akismet isn’t working.  Valid comments are being spammed while spam comments about stuff like ring tones and finding an immigration lawyer are posting as approved comments.

I’ve been working on this for awhile now with no luck, but I think it’s about time to deal with the fact that I may have to just lose all comments and start from scratch. I’ve tried using a couple comment plugins, but they don’t work. I even tried using Disqus, but with the comment system being so screwed up I couldn’t even get the plugin to install. I don’t know what’s up with it.
