So if you don’t read my other blogs you probably haven’t heard the news by now. Just what kind of news could I have?

Well my friend has been complaining lately that she’s had to give up her weekly facials and monthly microdermabrasion treatments due to her new “condition”. Well here I am with the same condition, but I’ve got to give up so much more. I have to give up the bike for oh…the next 7 1/2 months, but I’m definitely not complaining about it.

Yep, that’s right. We just found out we’re expecting our first child. I’ll get to ride again soon enough, but right now it’s time for my life to take a step in another direction, and I can’t wait to enter motherhood.

Don’t get me wrong. I’ll still be going to track days and the Gap and all that this year, but you want find me on a bike. I’ll be sitting on the side watching Hubby, but I’ll enjoy myself just as much because I know eventually I’ll be back out there again.

We got one more nice little ride in today before the rain is supposed to hit again. At least supposed to be nice and sunny all weekend long. We didn’t get to ride as long as I wanted to today because I had already laid out steaks to grill tonight. Hubby doesn’t allow anyone to touch his grill, but he got home late, so dinner got off to a very late start. By the time we were done with dinner it was already getting a little chilly, so i didn’t want to stay out long.

Once we got back I started trying to plan out a schedule for us to make it to a couple track days this year. It looks like the main one we want to attend in August at Barber falls on the same weekend we had planned to go to the beach. I may have to put our idea of checking out Outer Banks rentals off until next year since we’ll be going to Charleston the next month around our anniversary anyway. I’m going to make sure we make it to at least 1 track day at Barber this year.

Now I just need to find an fzr 1000 rim so we can start running 180s. I love running 2CTs, but why should we have to pay $40 more because we can’t run anything bigger than a 170 on the stock rim? As soon as I get that fzr 1000 rim we’ll save $40 and have the 180 that I’d prefer to run.

We were supposed to hook up with our friends K & C to play a little bit o’ Wii tonight, but that didn’t happen. The day was just too pretty to ignore, so when Hubby got home from work we hooked up with Allison for a nice ride instead.

I seriously need to clean my textile jacket because I thought I was going to sweat to death in my leather today. Who needs Lipovox when you can just sweat off the fat? Seriously though it’s the fact that I’m not used to it being nice and warm again, so I’ll definitely have to get used to the feeling of getting hot and sweaty in the leather again.

I wasn’t complaining on the ride home though. As soon as the sun started to set a chilly wind picked up in the mountains, and boy was I glad I had the leather on then. I shouldn’t be whining about being hot or cold. I remember very plainly the winter when the car broke down and we had to ride the bike everywhere. It’s just not possible for me to bundle up enough to not freeze on a cold winter morning ride.

It’s just so nice to get out and ride again. We’d only planned to make a quick run up the mountain, but we quickly realized we’d been riding for 2 hours. That happens so easily when you’re enjoying every minute of what you’re doing.

Now I’m just crossing my fingers and hoping tomorrow is just as pretty. It’s supposed to be, but the weather man has been so wrong so many times this year.

Because of the problem I have with the comments on this blog none of my spam comments at all are caught by akismet. They all show up as regular comments, and I have to wade through advertisements for diet pills, Chicago injury lawyers, and various porn sites just to find the real comments.

I know I’ve accidentally deleted a couple real comments over the past few days because I got a little overly happy with delete.

If I’ve accidentally deleted your comment I’m sorry, but I’m definitely going to have to close comments on older posts to cut down on this spam problem.

Ugh. I hate all this rain. Ok I don’t hate it, and I’m seriously glad we’re getting it because we’re still in a drought. The lakes are all well beyond normal, but why does it have to hit on the weekend? Why does it have to bring the cold with it?

That little spurt of warmth we had last weekend was like one of those mini canned sodas they give you when you give blood. It’s just enough to give you a taste and leave you wanting more!

I’m definitely wanting more warm weather, so much that I’m sitting here searching for beach vacation rentals in really warm spots and dreaming of riding the bike down the beachfront strip. All a girl wants is a little more warm riding weather. Is that too much to ask? Yeah I know we’ll get it soon enough, but I can still dream. I’d be perfectly happy if it’d stay 75 year round.
