Daddy’s girl growing up

Motorcycle Helmets and Gear

My little girl is growing up and moved into her own house. She has always been a daddy’s girl and I have never had any complaints about that. I do not think I will ever have any complaints about that. It is wonderful to be loved so unconditionally. When she started looking at houses, I was the first person she came to for advice. She asked me about the nice neighborhoods and what questions to ask. I was thrilled with her choice. I was even more thrilled when she asked for help to get everything set up. She was able to put in adirect tv order for next week and also get the water turned on quickly. I told her I would take care of the power company and landscaping. I have always loved to landscape and I think my daughter was aware of that when she asked for my help. The lawn looks amazing and she said she is really enjoying it. I am lucky to have such a loving daughter and I hope she always needs and wants me.

Don’t Buy A Lemon

This morning I got a phone call from one of my best friends in California, and she was complaining that the used car she just purchased is already having problems. Most of our discussion was about California Lemon law lawyers. Three times this week the car she bought 2 weeks ago shut off on her for no reason driving down the road. Everything checked out when she drove it, and supposedly the car was a “certified pre-owned”, but can you really trust that statement?

I’ve test driven many cars before that were supposedly “certified pre-owned”, but when we really got to looking under the hood we found all sorts of problems that were either missed or blatantly ignored.  Just because a company certifies it doesn’t mean there aren’t any major problems going on, so you have to be careful and get things fully checked out before you spend your hard earned cash!

I told her maybe she needed to take it to her mechanic, and find out what’s going on with it. There’s a possibility they could have sold her a lemon. Hubby used to be her mechanic, but when she moved she lost the ability to get him to look at things before purchasing. I did what I do best, and I turned to the internet to do some research for her. I looked up Lemon Law attorneys in California and pointed her to the information I found. Hopefully she’ll get the situation taken care of, but until then it looks like she’ll be without a car again.

I Guess New Gear Isn’t An Option

I’ve spent a lot of time looking at new jackets and helmets over the last few days window shopping with the hopes that I can get some new gear for Christmas. The only problem is I’m not really seeing anything new that I like. What I really wanted was a new helmet, another Shoei, or an Arai, but I’m don’t like a single design I’m seeing. Is it time to go for a solid color helmet, or should I just give in and have my Shoei painted? I’m starting to think painting is the way to go.

One Tough Little Cookie

When I found out I was pregnant I knew one thing.  No matter what the sex of my child I would not “pet” him or her.  I wanted my little booger to be a tough one.  When we discovered we were having a girl I admit I kind of hoped she’d be a bit of a tomboy.  Well it looks like my wish might be granted.

Ellie is a tough little thing.  She’s constantly getting bumps and bruises, tumbling across the yard, laughing when she falls instead of running to me crying like her peers do (who are mostly boys I might add).  She sliced her thumb open with a piece of glass yesterday, and it didn’t even phase her.  She never let out a single whimper.  Instead she thought it was pretty funny as she wiped her bloody hand across everything “painting”.  As I cleaned up her hand I wondered…have I created a little monster?

How many ER visits will we make before she’s even school age?  Do I really want to get her a dirt bike or pocket bike as soon as her feet can touch?  Am I ready for broken bones, torn up knees, and the like?  I must have driven my own mom absolutely insane growing up because I was that girl running with the boys trying to do what they could do better.

One things for sure.  She’s a tough cookie, and she’s going to give me hell as she grows up.  I better prepare myself now.  After all, I did wish it upon myself!
