Sweating It Off

Riding motorcycles may not be a strenuous exercise activity, but Hubby and I have both been joking that we’ve both gained weight because we haven’t been riding the last few months.  We were looking for multivitamins last night when he picked up a bottle of fat burner pills.  I told him he didn’t need those, and he laughed.  He grabbed his belly fat and said at this rate I won’t fit into my leathers by summer.

We both agreed we do both tend to lose weight during riding season, but I don’t attribute it to doing a strenuous activity.  I say it’s because we’re both in full gear in the hot sun sweating like crazy.  I told him to be patient.  We’ve already switched him to a low fat diet, we’re incorporating more exercise, and it won’t be long before we’re back in leather sweating it off again.  Leave the diet pills sitting on the shelf where they belong, and we’ll get ourselves back to a healthy weight the diet and exercise.

A little sweating is a good thought though on such a cold day like today! I’m sorry but negative wind chills just don’t happen very often around here, and this southern girl is freezing her buns off.

Icon Bombshell Vest

I absolutely love Icon’s Field Armor line, and my only regret is that a woman can’t wear the vest. If I could squash my boobs underneath it you better believe I’d have one to wear under my jacket. Unfortunately I can’t turn my melons into nothing, so I have to keep dreaming about that vest instead.

Now I’m happy to say I finally have a Field Armor type option though. Icon just came out with the Women’s Bombshell Vest. It’s a cut down version of the Bombshell Leather Jacket that I’m already so in love with. Sure there are other women’s vests out there, but not with the Field Armor back plate that I want, and that’s exactly what has been added to the Bombshell Vest. You’ll never catch me riding around with just the vest on, but I would definitely love to have it as extra protection under my jacket, especially on days I choose to wear my textile jacket.

It’s definitely going to cost me a pretty penny to pick it up though. The Bombshell Vest retails for $250. That’s more expensive than the home theater furniture Hubby tried to convince me to buy when he wanted to turn the guest room into our own movie theater.

Discounts Are Awesome

I’ve been trying to save up a little cash to pick up a new laptop, but I kind of blew that yesterday. The local dealership was having a huge sale this weekend, so I ended up spending the cash I had saved on bike stuff. We picked up a new clutch lever for the bike for pocket change, so that’s one more of the small parts down.

Other than that we grabbed stuff for us. Hubby picked up a $90 pair of full length race gloves for $45, so that wasn’t too bad. I also grabbed myself an Icon t-shirt I’ve been wanting for $10. I got it for 50% off, so that was good enough for me! They also had the Icon Shamrock T-shirt I want on sale for $20, but the only sizes left were L and XL. I knew there was no way either of those would fit me (they’re men’s sizes), so I didn’t bother. Sucks though. I would have loved to grab that one on sale as well.

The New Shift Leathers Fit Perfect

Hubby got himself a new pair of leathers yesterday. He’s been wanting the Joe Rocket GPX Type R 1 piece suit, but it’s a little outside my budget right now. I was hoping to get it for him next month, but I lucked up. A friend found him the Shift MX1 1 piece suit for $300! Shift has this suit originally for $699.95, but it’s now marked down to $299.95. It’s only available in XXL which is exactly what Hubby needs.

Thank you Rodney! They look great on him! Here’s Hubby trying them on.

We couldn’t have found a more perfect fit! I asked him how he felt, since he’s never worn leathers before, and he said he felt claustrophobic and like he couldn’t stand up straight. I told him what everyone else has always told me. Leather’s aren’t meant to be stood up in!

So he played around on Rodney’s bike for a bit to see how they feel in a riding position.

“Look babe! I’m leaning so hard I’m dragging the kickstand!”

Yep, that’s what he said to me. It finally gave me an opportunity to call him a damn squid! lol He sure will look sweet though with all that black on black on the 600r. Now, I just need to convince him to get a black helmet.

Right now we have matching helmets *gag* (his idea), but I’m about to get another one soon. I’ve picked out quite a few, but I just can’t settle on the one I want. I might throw up a few helmets here in a poll to see which one is better liked.

Hooking Up The Harley

Before I go off searching through the forums I have to take a few minutes to search for some Discount Harley Parts for Hubby’s cousin. He purchased a custom Harley Softail a couple months back, and he’s finally ready to add some extras to it. The bike is already pretty sweet looking. It’s a gorgeous copper color that I would love to see on a sports bike. I’ve filed the color away in my custom color ideas for my own bike. Everything else on the bike is completely chrome, so I’m hoping to find some discount chrome HD parts.

I know he’s wanting to replace the chrome upper fork sliders with something a little nicer looking. The ones that came on the bike are pretty ugly. He also wants to add a windshield to help block some of the wind hitting him, and I don’t blame him. On a cold ride having that windshield can make an extremely huge difference. We’re definitely going to find him one of the detachable models that can be removed in a couple minutes tops because I know there are still going to be those really nice warm days when he wants to take it off and feel that wind hitting him. Besides, the chicks might like it better without the windshield, right? lol We’re going to definitely hook him up!

I’m going to make another suggestion for the ladies, add a backrest. When I take a ride on my father in law’s Vstar that backrest makes a huge difference. Any lady friends who want to go for a ride will truly appreciate it.

Right now I’m making a list of stuff that I think he would like, and I’m going to print out photos to go over everything with him. He’s one of those guys who hardly ever touches a computer, so he calls on me when he wants something. He’ll pick it out, then I’ll order it for him. I might not be a huge fan of Harley Davidson since I’m a sports bike girl, but I will seriously hook this thing up! Who knows, one day when I’m older you might see me scooting around on a Harley of my own!
