The Trip To Deal’s Gap

Man this weekend was so much fun! I didn’t end up riding very much at all, but I still had a lot of fun. We rode up to Deal’s Gap really early Saturday morning, and we met up with our friend’s at one of the local’s house. We spent a few hours riding, then as everyone started to tire we headed back to Ray’s house for an awesome BBQ. We got to meet a lot of the locals, and we just all hung out having a great time.

Ben got to ride Rodney’s 2006 GSXR 750 since our bike is still in the shop, and he absolutely loved it. He’s been trying to convince me to let him get a 1000, and I told him I thought he should get a 750. After this weekend he’s sold on the 750. He’s still a bit away from dragging a knee, but the body position on the 750 sets him up for it so much better.

Here’s Ben getting a feel for the 750.

Ray always looks good no matter how crappy the camera is.

We made quite a few trips through in the Blazer as well since Little A hung out with me and Rodney most of the day. We parked at one of the pull offs so he could watch his mama riding through. I didn’t get many photos, but I did snap a few with my little point and shoot. If I had a DSLR I would have been in heaven. As soon as I get one I’m definitely taking a trip up there with it.

Alli always came by so fast she was nothing but a blur in any of the photos I took.  We’ll have to wait and buy some from Killboy, Moonshine, and Zeefoto.

Alli went by in a blur followed by Ben

We left a lot later than we had planned. From Ray’s house it’s about a 3 1/2 hr trip home, so I took a few books with me, but we ended up leaving so late it was super dark. Reading was out of the question. We did however get to ride through at night while some of the locals were out playing, and it was gorgeous. The sky glowed across the mountain from all the cars and bikes riding up.

We would have stayed overnight for the night runs with the locals if it hadn’t been Mother’s Day yesterday.  We just really needed to get home.  Alli stayed though, and she said it was absolutely awesome.

Little Man Showing Off

Baby Boy A sure is getting in a lot of riding time. He’s gotten to ride more lately than I have! Mama picked him up from school yesterday, and boy was he the man of the hour! All the little kids wanted to run out to see A leave with his brand new leather riding jacket!

Yes I blurred out the faces. I’m not sticking a bunch of kids online like that, especially since I don’t know them and don’t have parental permission. I do have permission to share A’s photos.

He went straight to his tee ball game, then he got to ride home. Mama’s keeping it under 45 with him, so he’s enjoying a safe ride. I promise no twisties with the little one on the back!

He did really great, and he absolutely loved it!

Right now we’re talking about taking him with us when we go to the beach this summer. If we all go we can check out some Hilton Head rentals and split the cost instead of getting hotel rooms. It’d be nice to be able to take the little guy with us so he can ride around at the beach with us. His Mama ordered him a textile jacket that should be here in a couple weeks.

Baby Boy’s First Ride

My mini friend A got to go on his very first bike ride today. Mama Alli ordered him a helmet Sunday night that came in yesterday (really fast shipping from newenough.com!), so she picked him up from daycare today on the bike.

Little guy is so small his feet barely reached the pegs, and as you can see he’s sitting right behind Mama in her seat. He did absolutely great though! He gets to ride to his tee ball game tomorrow, and he’s so excited!

Killboy Pics Are Up

Things turned out pretty nice for the ride some of you guys made this weekend. Now I really wish I could have been there. Alli, you made front page of Killboy (as usual). There were a ton of great shots of everybody, and I got to see what the bike looks like on film now that it’s been repaired. We didn’t do a full repair, but instead we decided to leave it as a rat bike for now.

You can see Hubby’s pics in our Photoreflect album, but in the words of my Grandpa “put your magnifiers on” because these are the low res proof versions.

Photos Are Up

It’s a shame I didn’t get to ride up to the Gap with Hubby on Saturday because he said the weather was really nice. I was stuck at home dealing with a little something the boys don’t have to experience, and let me tell ya cramps are not fun on a 2 1/2 hour bike ride.

Yeah, so I didn’t get to go, but Hubby already has some pretty decent shots up. For you guys that went up Friday and Saturday, most of your photos are already up on Zeefoto and US129Photos. Alli I saw a couple great shots of you, and they aren’t all ass photos this time! Ray has a ton of great shots as always, and I’m sure he’ll make the front page of Killboy, as usual!

Did anyone happen to figure out who the other photographer was yet? We know Zeefoto, US129, and Killboy were there, but there was another group setup without any signs. It didn’t look like Killboy’s other photographers, and I don’t think it was Moonshine, so if anyone knows who the other people were let me know!  I don’t think Dragon Slayer Photos has been out there since August of last year.

I’m off to look at some bedding sets since Hubby’s picking up the material to build my new bed today!

BTW- I HATE THE NEW VERSION OF WORDPRESS!
