Careful On New Tires

posted in Motorcycle Stuff |

I saw a post on Ride It Like You Stole It that gives you a perfect example of why you should always be easy on new motorcycle tires. When tires are created the manufacturer uses something called a mold release to allow the tire to slip out of the mold. When you buy a new tire some of this substance can still be left on the tire causing it to be slippery. You always need to ride carefully until you’re sure all of the mold release has rubbed off your new tires. Need a little more convincing? Look at the photos on Ride It Like You Stole It for the evidence of the mold release.
