I had a talk with dirt bike kid’s parents last night. I was pretty nice about it because of who they are. They’re really sweet people, so I didn’t want to come off all bitchy unless it was needed.
His mom sells Avon, so I called her to ask about a new Avon book because I’m interested in a ring I found online. I used to sell Avon myself, so I pretty much know when the new books are coming out, and I know I will never order from the Avon website again. Every time I do my stuff shows up damaged, but that’s another story for another day.
So while talking to chick I casually brought up her son. I mentioned that hubby and I have been wanting to ride, but it’s been so cold during the day over the last few weeks that we don’t see how her son can stand to be out there riding up and down the road at night after the temperature seriously drops.
She about had a shit fit.
She asked if I was sure it was her son I saw, and I said yeah he’s the only kid on our road with a dirt bike, plus I know his helmet. He’s got a solid white HJC helmet. To make a long story short the kid is grounded, and his main punishment is he’s not allowed to ride his dirt bike. Apparently he is sneaking out after his parents go to sleep, rolling the bike down the road, then riding all he wants.
*Busted!
I hate being a bitch, but the kid has got to stop. We live in a rural area, but he still has to respect the fact that there are other houses on this road. I’ve had other neighbors call me complaining because they think it’s hubby out on the motorcycle. I’ve had to explain that what they’re hearing is a dirt bike, and hubby would never ride up and down the road in the middle of the night like that.
Oh well. At least the problem is taken care of. Now I’m going back to drooling over some Patek Aquanaut watches I was just looking at.

Ya know what would be nice.
Maybe offering to take the kid riding some time.
You never know maybe his dirtbike is keeping him off drugs and out of gangs. Better to have a bike making noise on your block, then gun shots.
I have no problems with the kid riding his dirt bike, I just don’t think he should be riding up and down the road in the middle of the night…I mean like 3am.
We live in backwoods small town BFE, but there’s still neighbors who are waking up and blaming ME thinking it’s Hubby riding up and down the road at 3am.
It’s one thing to ride. It’s another to sneak out at 3am on a school night. If the kid would like to ride at a reasonable time, I’d gladly take him riding.
