The Update Photos
I snapped a few pics when we dropped off the bike so you can see what shape it’s in right now. I promise it looks much worse than it really is! The welding is the major thing that’s left to be done. After that it’s a matter of putting parts back on, putting the new gas tank on, fairings, stuff like that. After the welding is complete the tail end conversion will be done, and we can fit the r6 tail section on. Ignore the wooden braces. That’s our home built stand since the kickstand needs to be replaced. The old one is bent too much and won’t hold up under the weight of the bike.
I’m so excited because even though there have been bumps in the road we’re so close! We could have had it done quickly, but time and money constraints caused a major delay. Other than that there were times when neither of us felt like looking at it much less working on it. Now it looks like everything will be finished in 3 weeks. It would probably be sooner, but we’re tacking on an extra week to our goal since we’ll be at the beach for a few days.
Right now my main concern is jerking that D&D sticker off the replacement swingarm. :-p Sorry, but you’ll never find a D&D on my bikes.
